Since I've been trying to get more nutritionally and physically fit I've been seeking healthy foods all over. Recently, I found a delicious, low-calorie snack recipe behind a turkey bacon package. They call it a BLT Salad. I would have written the exact recipe but I threw out the package already. The ingredients are as follows:
6 cups lettuce, cut into bit size pieces
1 medium tomato, diced
8 pieces of turkey bacon, crumbled
1 short cucumber, halved lengthwise, then sliced into thin moons
3 oz hard cheese, diced
light salad dressing, to taste
Mix the tomato, bacon, cucumber, and cheese first to evenly distribute these small bits. Then mix in the lettuce. Finally, add a teaspoon of your favorite light salad dressing and blend well. You really don't need too much dressing at all. The salty flavor of the cheese and bacon is just enough to satisfy your palate. If you want to be more adventurous add some alfalfa or bean sprouts or maybe some raisins or Craisins or whatever. Snack on this dish all day between meals - it could last you for two days. A serving is a cereal bowl size.
