Bay Area Trip Day 1

So David lost his wallet but didn’t realize it until Sunday morning. That put a wrench in the wheels of our travel plans. I thought he would have the same concern as I did which would send me into overdrive looking for it, but he is different. He had little care. So if he was okay with a missing wallet then I was okay. Fortunately, I have my purse with everything needed to travel…and I also have my license still active and not expired like that one time the police pulled me over! I’ll explain that later.

Went to church while David stayed behind. I was surprised to receive so many accolades for the work I’ve been putting into the Jingle Bell Beach props. Suzie, Ann, Gayle, and JP! Many more praised the work I did, but my reception was not what I expected. I had more of an apologetic stance as if I had a problem the way an alcoholic would be embarrassed that they drink too much. But the funny thing is that when doing the work, I was enjoying it like a knitter would spend time twiddling and enjoying the process. I need to ask Lyra girl and God what’s up with that 😆

We finally left the house at 4:30pm, 1.5 hours later than we anticipated. David took a long time getting ready. He admits he has time management issues. I’d add energy management issues.

On our way up, I was in contact with Paul Jester, wine connisoir who wants his brand to come to life with an actual graphic. I was so struggling to stay calm once I came into contact with him especially after he saw my Instagram portfolio. It made me realize that I need to make actual finished pieces with an actual website and categories of the things I’ve accomplished. Soon.

Went to dinner at Brophy Bros out near the bay. It was windy outside in the patio dining and I would get startled every time the canvas roof slapped up from an abrupt gale wind. We each had clam chowder with a bit of salad or carb. $71 for 3 dishes. Not bad. We took home the bread.

On our way to the hotel, our navigator took us a different route than David had imagined. He freaked out but it ended up being a pleasant experience.

It’s near midnight. We are in our hotel. I’m cranky from running on 3 hrs of sleep. I managed to get the place organized for the family. I take pride in my ability to move the family and know when to get David to use his booming voice in the girls when they don’t do as expected. We make a good team.

Tomorrow it’s outdoor adventure time!
